VENICE HERITAGE MUSEUM

I am on the Venice Heritage Museum’s board helping as a hands on Creative Director building their brand, promotions (social) as well as curation/design for the exhibits. I branded the museum and designed the inaugural exhibit at our permanent home, 228. N. Main St., Venice, CA.

Featured Los Angeles Times article.

I curated, branded, MC’d, and promoted a sold out VHM Film Festival with 20 short film titles spanning 100 years of Venice heritage. Featuring interviews our VHM Oral History Project, with Boardwalk icon, Harry Perry & Joan Huff, descendant of one of the first African-American families of Venice as well as content from Sherman Paramount Pathe News, Venice Arts, Venice Institute of Contemporary Art, Venice Heritage Museum, UCLA Film & Television Archive. Check out the program from the event.

The Argonaut did a nice story about our Film Festival (all volunteer staff) that we are putting on tomorrow in Venice, CA. “People should come to the event to celebrate Venice Heritage and its diverse stories,” Murphy said. “The more we understand where we come from, the more we understand what we can do together.”
